Just some of the subject included:
The responsibility of Trail Builders
Is a low maintenance trail model feasible?
Working with Land Managers-Forestry Corporation, NPWS & Councils
Successful grant writing
Commercialising your trails to increase sustainability (not everything will relate to motorcycling, but knowledge is power)
Update 20 August 2024
We are now a committee member the Motorcycle Council of NSW,
Our presence on the council will allow to us to vote and give us a voice in the council and advocate for off-road riding.
We were nominated and voted in at the Annual General meeting, moving forward will attend all meetings on the MCC calendar.
Aside from the MCC we are also new members of Outdoor NSW & ACT, our membership allows us to better connect with larger base of like minded people, clubs and committees, we also have voting rights within Outdoor NSW & ACT
Over the previous year we have been studying the legislation that relates to public events, access to private property, camping on private property and what protections clubs, promoters, riders and event organisers are afforded under the civil liability act.
We have identified four key points that required amendments that will improve the sport of motorcycling, the amendments will also benefit many other activities, including for profit and not for profit associations, such as sporting clubs, school P&C’s, if our proposed amendments are adopted, the flow-on effect will be a huge win for regional & rural towns and communities.
We have met with and gained the support of two NSW ministers of the legislative assembly, along with meeting with one large state membership based association and one large national membership based association, both of whom have pledge their support, their support may or may not be required to be activated, the situation is fluid, more information will follow as we progress.
We have a lot of work to do in this area, we are feeling confident we will succeed.
